After the Lake , Pizza!

After having a great day at Table Rock Lake my family is ready to head to Reeds Spring. We love pizza, and we are fortunate to have the BEST PIZZA nearby. Reeds Spring Pizza Company sits right in the heart of Reeds Spring. The décor is quiet eclectic, as are the patrons. You never know who you might see here...nope that's all I am saying!
There is a cabinet of unique vintage cameras and the like. Large posters grace the walls showing historic scenes from the area. Everyone loves the opportunity to write their name on the walls or ceiling. I don't even know where to begin about the food. The pizza  is made to order from the freshest ingredients. So many combinations and choices of toppings, cheeses, and sauces! Then there are the calzones and grinders. The homemade bread/crust are amazing. The cheese bread and stuffed mushrooms are our favorite appetizers. I know a salad is a salad, but they make many of their own dressings. My favorite is the French Vinaigrette. An interesting side note, one of the owners is French. Yes, I said French! She grew up in France working in her families restaurant. The service here is great, they will make you feel like an old friend. Hope you get the chance to try it. They are open Monday -Saturday Main Street 417-272-3507

More Fun at Table Rock

More fun on Table Rock Lake as we ride the Sea Doo to the Dam and visit the Dewey Short Visitor Center. The new center has a state-of-the-art interactive map of Table Rock Lake, artistic wall murals, and a Native American artifact exhibit. Old and young will enjoy the interactive water safety exhibit demonstrating the importance of wearing a life jacket. Lots of fascinating history about the Taneycomo/Table Rock area. You can boat up to the courtesy dock, or drive. They are at 4500 Highway 165, Branson. The Shepherd of The Hills Fish Hatchery is located just below Table Rock Dam. The hatchery produces between 350,000 and 400,000 pounds of Rainbow and Brown trout each year! You can catch a guided tour, or just walk around on your own. There are great fishing lesson events going on most of the time(417-334-4865). While you are in the area you should have a look at the Dam, when the gates are open it is awesome!
Well we are starving ,time for pizza.

Table Rock

Back to Table Rock, we road the Sea Doo down to the Dewey Short Visitor Center (4500 Highway 165) .They have courtesy docks and it's a  pretty park-like setting. The center has an amazing interactive map of Table Rock Lake, a large replica of an Ozark bluff that features plants native to Missouri, and interactive water safety exhibits. There is also a 75 seat theater, showing films throughout the day. The views from the visitor center are fantastic! Near the dam is the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. (417-334-4865)The hatchery produces between 350,000 and 400,000 pounds of rainbow and brown trout each year. Catch a guided tour, or a self-guided tour ,or one of the many fishing lesson events. Seeing the water pour through the dam gates is awesome!

Back to Table Rock

Lake levels at Table Rock have come down the last few days. The water is clearing up after our recent heavy rains, looking beautiful. I kayak several days a week, and am enjoying the color caused by the varying water depth. In the heat of the day I opt for my Sea Doo. Oh how I love my red Sea Doo! My son never tires of buzzing around the Branson Belle, or better yet ,Branson Ride the Ducks. One of our favorite treats is riding up to Big Cedar Marina. We walk up to sit by the pool and enjoy something cold and frozen. I highly recommend the Bass Bait from the Buzzard Bar. Yum! There are lots of good salads, sandwiches and such if you are wanting a lighter lunch. If you have the opportunity to visit the Buzzard Bar in the evening you will love "The Singing Cowboy". He sings and tells family friendly jokes. Watching kids take his mic and belt out a song is the best. Be safe and enjoy beautiful Table Rock!
